
Character Creation for Games
Optimize artistic approaches to deformable character creationThis course builds on the fundamentals learned in Character Modeling and Sculpting and through weekly lectures, in-class practice, and out of class assignments, introduces students to workflows specific to creating real-time character models for games. The course covers topics including creation of hair cards and realistic cloth, working with hard surface elements, and building clean and efficient low poly meshes. Classes include a mixture of weekly sculpting and modeling demonstrations, discussions of texturing methods, and in-class exercises. Students will learn character techniques through homework assignments which build towards a final class project.
