Since Luke made the trench run in Star Wars, Flynn took to the Game Grid in Tron, and digital dinosaurs roamed the screen in Jurassic Park, audiences have been dazzled by computer graphics, 3D animation, and visual effects, commonly known as CGI.
Discover the foundations of 3D computer graphics and animation—staples of digital production for the film, television, and games industries. Students will receive a hands-on introduction to Autodesk Maya, an industry standard software, as they create and animate their own objects and scenes and learn the basics behind integral skills like 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, animating with dynamics, and rendering.
In addition to in-class instruction, the average day at Gnomon’s Digital Arts Summer Camp also includes a catered lunch and a guest speaker presentation. Students will have the opportunity to hear from a respected artist working in the entertainment industry for a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to create art for movies, TV, and games.
When the course is completed, students will have newly-gained insight into the world of computer graphics, along with a finished personal project which can be used in their portfolios.
Gnomon's Digital Arts Summer Camp was developed with the belief that everyone has a creative side. Our small class sizes allow instructors to personalize guidance based on previous experience and artistic goals. Regardless of your ability, we invite Digital Art Summer Camp students to explore their potential at Gnomon.
